ISO Images
ISO images let you attach a virtual disc to your VPS for custom OS installations, recovery tools, or specialised software that requires booting from an image. The dashboard provides a simple interface to mount and unmount ISOs.
Available ISOs
The ISO list is maintained by the provider and includes images for both Linux and Windows platforms. Each ISO shows its display name and platform. A minimum disk size may be required for certain images.
Mounting an ISO
- Open your VPS in the dashboard
- Scroll to the System section
- Click the ISO Image button (shows "No ISO mounted" when nothing is attached)
- Select an ISO from the dropdown
- Hold the Hold to Mount ISO button for 2 seconds to confirm
The operation completes quickly. Once mounted, the dashboard updates to show the name of the attached ISO.
After mounting, you typically need to reboot the VPS and use the VNC console to interact with the ISO's boot environment.
Unmounting an ISO
- Open your VPS in the dashboard
- Scroll to the System section
- Click the ISO Image button (shows "Mounted: [name]")
- Hold the Hold to Unmount ISO button for 2 seconds to confirm
The ISO is detached from the VPS immediately. The button reverts to "No ISO mounted".
When to Use ISO Images
- Custom OS installation — boot from a distribution ISO that isn't in the standard OS list
- Recovery — attach a rescue ISO when the installed OS won't boot
- Specialised software — install tools that ship as bootable images
- Windows installation — mount a Windows ISO for manual setup via VNC
After finishing with the ISO, unmount it so the VPS boots from its primary disk again.
Permissions
Mounting and unmounting ISOs requires collaborator access or higher. Read-only users can see which ISO is currently attached but cannot change it.
Troubleshooting
"Mount failed" — the provider could not attach the ISO. Verify the VPS is running and try again. If the problem persists, contact support.
VPS doesn't boot from the ISO — after mounting, restart the VPS and open the VNC console. The ISO may require manual selection in the boot order.
"Unmount failed" — the provider could not detach the ISO. Make sure the VPS is not actively using the mounted image, then try again.
